The Cards

This is Sacred Earth / Seven Element Tarot. Developed to embrace the elemental metaphysical systems of the world, Sacred Earth / Seven Element Tarot draws upon the earth itself and from our life on earth for its images. In order that the images on the cards resonate as easily and deeply as possible with the people of the earth, with humanity as a whole, I have eliminated political and religious references from the deck. There are no Kings and Queens, no Emperors and Empresses in this deck. There are people, mothers and fathers, sons and daughters. There are no angels or devils in this deck. There are instead, visual references to metaphorical concepts that reflect our own human and inescapable tendencies and abilities.

There is no good or evil in this deck. There is only the earth. The earth knows no bad or good. It knows growth and development, decline and decay. All these processes are necessary to her life and to ours.

There is no mystery to reading this deck. Esoteric references have been kept to a minimum in order to make information easily accessible and powerfully clear.

Our images

It is our goal to produce a deck that is almost entirely made up of donated images from around the world, allowing the deck to embody the beautiful energy of this planet and the people who live on it. Presently, most of the images have been sent in by generous individuals who have been willing to share their art and their energy with the world. Their names or business names appear beneath their contributions as well as the location in which the photos were taken.

However, many of the images we have used for Sacred Earth / Seven Element Tarot have been purchased from a stock photography company because we did not have all the necessary images that we wanted for this deck. The images need to incorporate reality and, at the same time, convey the traditional meanings of the tarot cards. We have included a description under each card to indicate where we are still looking for particular images and the type of image for which we are searching. I hope, if you have an image that fits the description given for a card, that you will contact me about possibly becoming a part of this project of bringing Tarot into the 21’st century.
